Following on from a series of excellent tracks, Refs have dropped their new single, ‘Every Other Night’. It’s a tense, dramatic song that all unfolds from a single, gritty, droning synth note. Percussion enters and gradually develops over the course of the track, before a cinematic instrumental outro takes us toward the endgame. They explain: “An alternate title to this song could be ‘The Human Animal’. it’s an expression of something latent within; something visceral, animalistic and raw. modern humans are good at hiding it, but that primal nature still exists inside each of us.” Their debut album, New Religion, drops on November 11th, 2022. -Dan Peeke.
